What triggers a Slack alert
AppFox sends a Slack message in two situations:- New approval request — a customer submitted an edit that falls outside your auto-apply rules and requires a merchant to review it before it is applied
- SLA breach warning — an approval request has been pending longer than your configured threshold without being reviewed, prompting the team to act before the customer is left waiting
Set up Slack notifications
Confirm your plan
Make sure your store is on the Growth or Pro plan. Open the AppFox dashboard and go to Settings → Plan to check or upgrade.
Connect to Slack
Click Connect to Slack and authorize AppFox to post messages in your Slack workspace. You’ll go through Slack’s standard OAuth flow and return to AppFox when it’s done.
Choose a channel
Select the Slack channel where AppFox should send alerts — for example
#orders or #support. AppFox posts to a single channel; you can update this at any time from the Integrations page.Set your SLA threshold
Enter the time after which AppFox should send a follow-up alert if an approval request hasn’t been reviewed — for example, 4 hours. Leave the field blank to disable SLA alerts and receive only new-request notifications.
Alert format
Each Slack message includes:- Order number — links directly to the order in your Shopify admin
- Customer name — so the agent knows who submitted the request
- Edit type requested — for example, address change, variant swap, item removal, or cancellation
- Time submitted — the timestamp when the customer submitted the request
- Direct link to the approval queue — one click takes the reviewer straight to the pending request in AppFox
Slack integration is available on Growth (49/mo) plans.
