AppFox is a Shopify app that puts order editing in your customers’ hands — right on the thank-you and order status pages they already land on after checkout. Instead of routing every “can I change my order?” email through your support team, customers fix their own addresses, swap sizes, adjust quantities, and cancel within the rules you set. Around 80% of common edit requests self-serve without any agent involvement, so your inbox gets quiet and your team handles the exceptions that actually need a human.

The problem it solves

Every Shopify store gets the same batch of post-purchase emails: wrong address, wrong size, one extra item, accidental duplicate order. Each one costs you in three ways. Ticket cost. An agent reads the message, hunts down the order in your admin, makes the change by hand, and replies. That loop repeats for every request, every day — and scales directly with your order volume. Delivery cost. Address typos that go uncaught become failed deliveries, reshipments, and chargebacks. The problem doesn’t surface until the carrier returns the package. Fee cost. Tools that handle edits by canceling the original order and creating a new one forfeit Shopify Payments processing fees of 1.5–2.9% per transaction. Shopify does not return those fees on a cancellation. On a 100order,thats100 order, that's 1.50–$2.90 gone — on every single edit your store processes. AppFox removes all three costs. Customers self-serve inside your rules, address validation catches typos at entry time, and every edit happens in place — so the order number, payment record, and processing fees stay exactly where they are.

What AppFox does

AppFox adds an edit flow to your store’s thank-you page and order status page — the pages Shopify already links from every order confirmation email. Your customers don’t need to log in, create an account, or find a separate app. They open their order, see the edits they’re eligible to make, and submit the change in a few taps. On the backend, AppFox uses Shopify’s native Order Editing API to modify the original order in place. If the new total is higher, the customer is charged the difference automatically on the original payment method. If it’s lower, a partial refund is issued automatically. Safe edits apply instantly; edits you’ve flagged as sensitive go to your approval queue. Every change is recorded on a per-order audit timeline so you always have a full history. You set the rules — edit windows, fulfillment cutoffs, per-action approval requirements — and AppFox enforces them silently. Edits that aren’t allowed are never shown to the customer at all.
